The digital landscape in Thailand continues to move fast, and the best part is consumers are embracing it. This year Thailand had the highest internet user growth globally. You can read the report here.
The main reasons for the growth are Improved 3G infrastructure and accessibility, and cheaper smartphones from low end smartphone providers Huawei, Oppo and Lenovo, which in turn led to increased usage of social media, chat apps and eCommerce.
Thais continue to embrace online services, and are using the internet to engage and interact with each other in record numbers (Bangkok has 8.68 million Facebook users, more than any other city in the world) creating a fundamental shift in the way businesses build relationships with customers.
And the really exciting part…there is still alot of growth ahead.
Right now only 28% of the population are online, and as smartphones and bandwidth continue to become cheaper and more ubiquitous the question that remains is, how will local business take advantage and build better, smarter businesses and better relationships with customers in 2015?
